Elvan Kotzaoglan: Four Homes in Platani to Be Ready in Two Years—To Be Offered Rent-Free to Doctors

Elvan Kotzaoglan, President of the Vakouf of Kos, appeared on the program ‘MAZI on KosTv’.

Mrs. Kotzaoglan discussed the goals and priorities of the new year.

As she noted, among other things, financial assistance to economically disadvantaged fellow citizens facing health challenges will continue, and at the beginning of March, with the start of Ramadan, additional support will be provided to underprivileged residents of Kos.

Additionally, the President emphasized that a monthly financial allowance is provided to two students—one Christian and one Muslim—for their rent during their studies, amounting to €350 (they were selected based on financial criteria). Meanwhile, four houses are being built in the Platani area to be offered free of charge to doctors who choose to serve at the General Hospital of Kos.

The housing complex being constructed by the Vakouf is located behind the EFKA building (formerly IKA). The goal is for these houses to be completed within the current term so they can be made available for use by doctors.

Finally, Mrs. Kotzaoglan highlighted that the Vakouf of Kos is continuing its search for a residence in Athens, with the aim of offering it free of charge to patients and their companions who must travel to the capital for medical treatment and lack the financial means to stay in a hotel during their hospitalization.
